Maya Burman

Maya Burman, who studied architecture in Paris for three years, is known for her delicate paintings that blend fantasy and intricate detail. Her work features a tapestry-like effect, where patterning takes precedence, reminiscent of French Art Nouveau and medieval European architecture, combined with mythical and folk imagery drawn from her Indian heritage. This fusion creates a unique cultural intersection in her art. Primarily working in pen and ink and watercolor, Burman’s paintings often evoke a strong sense of fantasy. She has held several solo exhibitions with Art Musings, including Rhapsody (2014), A Dreamer’s Labyrinth (2010), and Once Upon a Time (2007), as well as The Flower & the Bulb (2016), a joint show with her mother, artist Maïté Delteil. Her work has also been featured in numerous group exhibitions, including the India Art Fair (2023, 2022, 2013, 2012, 2011) and Fête Champêtre (2021). Maya Burman currently lives and works in France.
