Umakant Kanade

Kanade Umakant Nivrutti, born on June 15, 1965, in Loni Vyankanath, Tal. Shrigondha, Dist. Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, is a distinguished artist and educator. He holds a G.D. Art in Painting (First Class), completed in 1990. Kanade has earned numerous accolades for his artistic excellence, including the 2nd Award for Miniature Painting from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya in 1998, and several other recognitions such as the 3rd Award from V.V. Oak, Pune, the Merit Award at the South Central Zone exhibition in Nagpur, and the Merit Award at the Chitari Academy of Fine Arts exhibition in Pune. His works have been featured in various exhibitions, including those organized by the Bombay Art Society in Mumbai. In addition to his career as an artist, Kanade Umakant Nivrutti serves as a lecturer at Bharati Kala Mahavidyalaya in Pune, where he continues to inspire and mentor young artists. His primary medium is pen and ink (crowquill) on canvas, through which he creates intricate and detailed artworks. His art is held in many private collections both in India and abroad, reflecting his wide-reaching influence and appeal.
