Nishant Dange

Born in 1982 in Nagpur, Nishant Dange graduated with top honors and a Gold Medal from the Government of Chitrakala Mahavidyalay in 2004. He also received the Bombay Art Society Award in 2007. Initially a watercolor landscape artist and freelance illustrator, Dange later mastered charcoal as his medium, finding inspiration in the enigmatic beauty of women. Dange’s charcoal works are minimalist portraits of women, characterized by bold, confident lines and dramatic contrasts between dark charcoal and vibrant, monochromatic hues. The closed eyes of his figures evoke a sense of meditation, while the delicate motifs of butterflies enhance the feminine beauty, adding depth and emotion to the work. Dange’s art, combining the aesthetics of old-school photography with minimalist design, has been showcased in numerous national and international exhibitions. His unique approach to form, color, and emotion has earned him critical acclaim and recognition in the art world.
